Yesterday I was trying my best to find a vacation cottage in Florida that is pet-friendly. We love to take our dog, Rusty, with us on some of our travels. Mostly because he just loves to ride in the car. Two years ago we found the perfect getaway for us and our two dogs in Panama City, but this year we wanted to stay in Destin, Florida.
I spent the entire day on the internet yesterday going through pages and pages of pet-friendly cottages and homes that would fit our needs and budget. Needless to say I am still looking.
So, how do you find the cheapest accomodations and air fares on the web?
There seems to be no surefire method, but there are ways to search or monitor prices to fit your needs. Some sites such as Orbitz.com can watch air fares to your destination and send you an e-mail if they drop below a certain price. You can try to locate lodging in the ads of the Travel section of your local newspaper. You can try a phone call to the Chamber of Commerce in the city of your destination. They should be able to help you with your questions about discount hotels, restaurants and special events.
As for me, I will continue to search the internet and hopefully find a suitable cottage before the end of the month.
