Coupons and Your Favorite Hobby

Hi Shoppers,
I was reading "Woman's World" the other day and came across an article about what your hobby reveals about you.

There were several hobbies to choose. I picked "Painting and Ceramics" for my favorite hobby (if I had the time!). It reveals that I am a "deep thinker", open and emotional and have a deep need to express myself. Actually I am a deep thinker, but I am not prone to expressing myself to anyone. I keep most thoughts to myself because I feel that everyone else would know that deep down I was a boring and content person.

Pick your hobby and see how close they come to revealing your personality:
If you like "knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting" then you are "intelligent"!
If you like "gardening" then you are "spiritual".
If you like "playing an instrument" then you are "always in control".
If you like "golf" then you are "cool as a cucumber".
If you like "scrapbooking" then you are "a social butterfly".
If you like "jewelry-making" then you are a "planner"
If you like "cooking and baking" then you are a "people pleaser".

Whatever hobby you enjoy you can find your supplies at
Joann.com Fabric and Crafts. They usually have a coupon for you to use when you make a purchase. Check here for your coupon at Joann.com first before shopping.

Doing the Low Carb Thing Wrong

Last month my dad and mom decided they would go on the Atkins Low Carb Diet. They didn't have any additional information other than "eat meat not carbs". My parents first week was eating meat with a side order of meat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Lo and behold soon after the first week they were sick and couldn't continue the diet. I offered several of my books that would help them to choose what they should eat, but they declined.

Why do low carb dieters think that they do not eat vegetables. My husband and I are somewhat low carb eaters and choose a SMALL portion of protein and a LARGE portion of salad and veggies. This is how we have eaten for many years and although we are not super thin...We are at an average weight for our age.

If I can manage to exercise on the treadmill for 30 minutes 3 times a week I can lose any extra weight that I have gained just by walking.
See article on burning fat just by walking.

I think that the best diet around is the "
South Beach Diet". In the South Beach Diet, you follow three phases:

Phase 1 - This phase lasts two weeks and you will be eliminating processed carbs such as bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, cake, cookies, etc. The purpose is to help reduce your cravings for sweets and processed carbs. There is quite a bit of restriction in this phase, but you should eat till you are full and satisfied.

Phase 2 - In this part of the diet, you gradually reintroduce healthy carbs such as fruit, whole grain bread, rice and pasta, etc. You also have choices for what you can eat, which makes it easier to follow.

Phase 3 - When you've reached your ideal weight you will focus on maintaining your weight loss. You can even experiment how many splurges you can tolerate without gaining weight.

They even have a
Online Diet Program where you can get personalized menus designed just for you by a nutritionist.

Before starting any low carb diet (or any diet) please get the facts before you get sick.
